A Christian College in Arizona | College of Science & Education

Our Story

The College of Science and Education (CSE) is a Christian college in Arizona, founded by Goldie H. Burge. Inspired by the success of her life science charter school in Laveen—where animals, gardens, and expeditions helped children learn through every modality—she envisioned a similar, faith-based experience for higher education. Because of that vision, CSE brings hands-on learning and spiritual growth together in one powerful model. Since opening in 2025, the college has welcomed students seeking immersive education through field stations and research opportunities across Arizona, the U.S., and Central America. With each step, students grow in knowledge, faith, and purpose.

Rooted in faith, growing through nature—CSE is where your purpose blooms.

Mission Statement

To provide a Christian based educational environment where students learn through hands-on, experiential methodologies, by immersion into God’s natural world.

Vision

An opportunity for students to experience a college environment filled with God’s beautiful animals and plants, based in Christian principles and Faith. To learn through “real life” experiences. God’s earth and peoples will be opened to you and through these treasured experiences and expeditions, we pray you will discover who you are, your place in the world and God’s purpose for your life.

Our Philosophy

CSE believes that application-level learning takes place in the real world. Surrounding the student with many processes and methods of academia, utilizing hands-on experiential pedagogies, which results in truly transferrable knowledge and skills into the workplace and one’s life.
